Why FaillingUp?

I loved computers since I got my own first Pentium with MSDOS and Win3.11. After getting my Physics master, I went into software development. It has been quite a ride and now I can consider myself a senior (seasoned) developer. My idea is to share my passion, experiences and, hopefully, helps others to navigate from zero to experienced developer. Avoiding the pitfalls and problems that I see in the industry today.

And the name of the blog, FaillingUp… what about that? Well, I always had a very strong impostor syndrome but that never stopped me to tackle new challenges and, to some degree, punching up my league. So failure was always around, and I failed several times. But I always tried to go up. Still do, so let´s do together.

What I will do here

I opened this blog when I was getting burnt in the industry. The idea was to get the passion again about technology and programming, something I felt I was losing. And I lost it, got burnt, quit, forget… But I am back now. My craving for knowledge and programming increased and I want to share here what I learn, what I do and what I think… in case someone is interested.

Nerds unite!

Let´s build a community with love for programming and for difficult problems. Have you ever wanted to learn how to make a compiler? Did you wonder how templates works in C++ and metaprogramming? Have you ever wonder about the benefits of Haskell or Rust? Funtional programming? I will not be able to teach you, because I have the same questions. But I will be showing you the process of my own learning, the projects I try to complete and the new things I learn and struggle with. So let´s go through it together.

Failed physicist, kind of successful developer. I tried too hard to find meaning in life, but got the opposite, so I've been drifting lately.
